WHY CAIN EXISTS
Built because flying shouldn't feel like operating software.
CAIN began life as a humble VoiceAttack profile, a small tool built to help friends survive Star Citizen’s labyrinth of keybinds. But once we saw how dramatically it improved their experience, the project took on a life of its own. Over the years we expanded it with rich vocal responses, immersive sound effects, full command authority over ship systems, voice navigation, hanger responce, integrated radio system , an info database and voice commodity information integrated into to UEX.
VR support followed soon after, allowing pilots to interact with CAIN entirely hands‑free within the cockpit. As the system evolved, we shaped CAIN into a true companion AI, complete with his witty personality and an ever‑growing knowledge base - inspired by the iconic K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider.
We briefly explored building our own voice‑command framework, but VoiceAttack’s power and flexibility made it the ideal foundation. And because voice‑pack installations can be notoriously frustrating, we engineered CAIN for absolute simplicity: automated setup, guided configuration, and clear video tutorials that get every pilot airborne without friction.
To support long‑term development, we packaged everything with a secure distribution and update engine, making patches and new content effortless to deliver. Although we originally hoped to offer CAIN for free, the ongoing costs of hosting, signing, distribution, web services, and AI infrastructure made that unsustainable. Instead, we chose a single, affordable flat fee — not to chase profit, but to ensure continuity and keep the project alive for the entire community.EXPLORE
